Nate loved blackberries. He ate lots of blackberries. The blackberries were so yummy. He ate some more. He took few more blackberries and rubbed them on his face.
He ran and looked in the mirror carefully. He looked very carefully.
“Oh wow! I look black now. Very interesting,” thought Nate. He called his mom again.
“Mommy, Mommy, Mommyyyyyy! I look black now. Maybe because I accidently rubbed some blackberries on my face.”
“Oh! Nooooo! You are right,” laughed his mother. “I think we should do some coloring after school today. You can color as much as you want in your coloring books.”
“Awesome! I love that idea,” smiled Nate.
“Now, please go and wash your face and get ready for
school,” said his mom.
The World is beautiful with Colors is an
excellent book and I loved the message. In this book, we meet Nate. He
is curious, intelligent, and independent. He is fascinated and inspired by all
the beautiful colors in the world, sparking his imagination. We join Nate for
his first day of school and are taken on funny, colorful adventure.
I loved the unique spin this book took and am
over the moon excited to find more books taking on powerful messages combined
with adventures intended to educate and inspire young readers to be accepting
of everyone.
The cast of characters are delightful. Right
away, you can see that Nate is raised by loving parents who have taught him to
love deeply and to see people for who they, not what they look like. The illustrations
add depth to the story and are complimentary. I highly recommend this book to
teachers, librarians, and parents. I could see this book read repeatedly! I
look forward to reading more from this author.

Shriyanie Fernando lives in Toronto, Canada, near beautiful Lake Ontario, with her three amazing children—a girl and two boys—and her husband. She is also a proud grandmother to a precious little boy from her daughter.
She is an AMI Montessori Education consultant and also an AMI Montessori educator working directly with young children for many many years.
She was the founder/owner/executive director of two Montessori schools and was the chief executive AMI Montessori education consultant to Green Nest Children's Foundation, working tirelessly for less fortunate children to give them a good education in their formative years. She now writes full time to inspire and educate children around the world. She hopes to touch each and every child's heart by her inspiring, fun and exciting stories with her unique blend of expertise and experiences in the fascinating world of education.
She is a lover of nature, beaches and holidays. She is terrified of bees and dogs for no reason. When her son got a Rottweiler puppy, she climbed onto the kitchen table, terrified. After a while she was fascinated and became an extraordinarily loving dog mom. Her family wonders, if they adopt a bee will she be a loving bee mom too?
When she is not writing, she spends most of her time reading, gardening and cooking. Her dishes are amazing, fantastic, beautiful, and delicious, just like her writing.
