Concealed in his jacket are ingots of gold; he just doesn't remember why.
A young girl running from an abusive foster home kidnaps the older biker with a mystery for a past.
Leaving the mining town in Colorado and crossing state lines, anything can happen.
What neither is looking for or expecting is friendship.
But in the cold of the desert night, life lessons can go both ways—even if they are not about a million dollars in gold.
Growing up is hard enough, even without the shooting.
Praise for Secrets of the Gold:
"kept me spellbound"
"you will have a very hard time putting this book down!"
In Secrets of Gold A young girl running from an abusive foster home kidnaps an older biker with a mystery for a past he has no memory of. Leaving the mining town in Colorado and crossing state lines, anything can happen. What neither is looking for or expecting is friendship.
This book is an adventurous and engrossing story of two people being what the other needs at that time. Full of mystery and suspense, this book kept me engaged from start to finish. Bean, 17 doesn’t trust easily while Duff, mid-thirties can’t remember his past. They have a chemistry, bond immediately, and trust one another. Their relationship quickly grows into a parent-child one and as they travel the southwest US, and we begin to learn about Duff’s near-death experience.
The characters are well-developed and likable. The cast of supporting characters are eclectic and represent lessons needed learned by Bean and Duff. The writing style is conversational and gives tidbits that help build the backstories for the reader. The descriptions are authentic and having grown up on motorcycles, I identified with the motorcycle stories.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery filled with suspense and unexpected twists.
