Think you need just a leash & a dog? So you think dog walking is a no-brainer, right?
Just snap on the old leash and head out the door, until. . .
• Your dog pulls you off your feet or jerks your arm out of its socket
• An off-leash dog races straight at you and your dog, in attack or play
• A speeding bicyclist barely misses hitting you
• Your dog jumps on a passer-by while you are distracted
• A panting, passing runner causes your dog to go ballistic from the aggressive, fast invasion of her space
• You encounter a coyote or snake
City Dog Walking Safety & Etiquette will cover all scenarios you and your dog can expect in urban and suburban environments. You will learn simple commands to help you understand each other, find the best fit of equipment, be aware of local hazards, and appreciate basic manners so you and your pup are welcome wherever you go. Sunny Weber will help you enjoy the outdoors with your furry friend—safely!
I truly enjoyed reading Sunny’s city dog
walking and etiquette book. I live in the city and my dog can be a bit skittish.
Thankfully, her randomly jumping into the street when she’s startled seems to be
a phase she’s grown out of. I’ll admit it was a bit unsettling when I thought
about walking her.
Through this book, I learned several key actions to help my dog be a better walker as well as behavior modifications I could teach her that have made our walks much more enjoyable. I also learned how I could be more aware and anticipate situations thus helping us to avoid them.
The author is knowledgeable and presents this information
in an easy to understand and implement format. I appreciate that her books are
written from the perspective of what the dog and their person need to be
successful and avoid unnecessary dangers. I highly recommend this book to anyone
who loves their canine and strives to have the best walks possible.
