I am a huge fan of Lauren Carr’s previous series’ and jumped at the chance to be a part of this tour. I love her writing style and ability to weave and intricate mysteries that immediately suck the reader in and doesn’t let go until the story ends.

I listened to this book on audio while doing Sunday chore and cooking routine. I enjoy listening to books while doing these types of tasks because they allow me to immerse myself in the story. Ice is the first book in the Chris Matheson Cold Case series. In this book, we meet Chris, now retired,  as he returns home to find out the cloud of suspicion cast over he and his family never lifted.

When rumors of Chris’s past start circulating his oldest daughter’s school, Chris must defend himself while keeping his family safe. With the help of the women in his life (specialists in their own areas), Chris starts chipping the ice off this cold case to find out who is responsible for the disappearance of Sandy Lipton and her unborn baby.

This book is a delightful blend of family saga and mystery filled with twists and turns you won’t see coming. I highly recommend and can’t wait to listen to book 2!
