I’m not going to lie, the premise of
this one had me hooked! Imagine it’s legal to commit one murder in your
lifetime if you register the victim and accomplish the kill within fourteen
days. When Lynell Mize stands in line to Register the man who abused her as a
child, she’s shocked to hear a stranger Register her to be killed. With her
mind blown, Lynell wants to know who wants to kill her and why. Desperate to
survive the next two weeks, she finds out multiple people have Registered her.
The book is interesting. Set in the US
and a dystopia future in which the justice system has changed and replaced with
‘The Registration” which citizens are allowed to register one person to legally
kill without ramifications.
The book is captivating, powerful, and
full of suspense. As Lynell goes on the run, she’s captured by people who think
she has the information they need. They’ll use torture if necessary. Coincidentally
her ex-husband enters to save the day but leaves Lynell wondering who she can
trust.
The book is also well written, full of
adventure, and realistic. I could see this type of future happening. Maybe not
in the US but somewhere. I highly recommend this book; it’ll keep you engaged
from start to finish while wanting more!
Overall Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟
