"War at the Ice Cream Store 2: Rocky Road vs The Sundae Storm" by Cheryl DaVeiga is another delightful, imaginative, and action-packed treat! As someone who has read several of DaVeiga’s books, I am always excited when a new title is released — and this sequel did not disappoint. She has an incredible talent for turning ordinary places into magical worlds full of humor, heart, and unforgettable characters.

In this second installment of the Ice Cream Store saga, the rivalry between Rocky Road and the fierce Sundae Storm is clever, creative, and downright delicious. DaVeiga’s storytelling is both fun and meaningful, weaving in messages about teamwork, resilience, and embracing our unique “flavors.” It's a fantastic read for kids, but honestly, adults will get a kick out of it too. The puns are hilarious and kept me laughing from start to finish.

What really brings this story to life are the incredible illustrations. Every page bursts with color and personality, capturing the energy and whimsy of the characters perfectly. You can almost taste the toppings and feel the excitement jumping off the page! The illustrations truly elevate the book and make it a joy to revisit again and again. I'd love to see this book in every early childhood center, elementary schools, as well as libraries across the country!

Cheryl DaVeiga never fails to deliver a unique experience with each of her books, and War at the Ice Cream Store 2 continues that streak with flair. It’s engaging, funny, and imaginative from beginning to end. I absolutely loved it, and I will be waiting on the edge of my seat waiting for Book 3  — because I’m ready for more sweet showdowns and chilly adventures!

Not surprising as I'm repeating myself and I can't help it. This series is that good! I highly recommend this book for families, classrooms, or anyone who enjoys a fun, flavorful story. Cheryl DaVeiga is a standout author, and this series is a real gem. Five enthusiastic stars!
